Bespoke concert attire for male soloists and conductors

Our support does not end with the crafting of your suit or tailcoat. If you wish, we are happy to take the time during our collaboration to get to know your stage presence more deeply – be it by attending your concerts or by studying photo and video material. This enables us to gain an even more intimate understanding of your personality, your charisma and the requirements of your artistic performance.

Even after completion of your outfit, we will continue to support you. If you wish, we can observe the impact of your concert wardrobe in the concert hall or in the media and assess whether it conveys the desired impression. Should this give rise to any requests for adjustments or opportunities for improvement, we will, of course, implement these in consultation with you.

Traditional suits are generally characterised by the tailoring of high-quality woollen fabrics that are lined and, additionally, reinforced on the inside with horsehair. Whether crafted by a tailor or ‘off the peg’, classic suits are often only of limited suitability for the movements required on stage: they can be too warm and, when playing an instrument, simply uncomfortable. Effective solutions focus on both the cut and the choice of fabric: high-necked jackets or frock coats can be worn without the classic shirt, bow tie or tie underneath, allowing the usual first layer to be omitted if desired.

Furthermore, jackets and frock coats can also be produced without an inner lining, thereby eliminating unnecessary heat-trapping material. Depending on the design, we incorporate shoulder pads with great subtlety to minimise overtly raised shoulders, such as those often arising when playing the violin or conducting. We frequently employ fabrics that are particularly thin yet have a slight texture, thus appearing more substantial than they actually are. In addition, these materials are water-repellent, preventing sweat marks, they are crease-resistant, washable and extremely lightweight (jacket and trousers weigh a total of approx. 900 g).

Our atelier’s aim is to create bespoke garments unique to each musician with whom we collaborate. The design, cut and fabric, combined with your artistic personality, make each piece completely individual. It can, nonetheless, be important to an artist that a particular detail remains exclusive to him alone. We can accommodate this wish at any time; however, we can only guarantee exclusive protection in relation to garments manufactured by Marillon Couture. We will, of course, communicate the associated costs transparently in advance.
